This week's theme at I ♥ Faces is I Wanna Dance and being a huge music and So You Think You Can Dance fan, I had plenty of pictures to choose from! I chose this one because of the colors! It was a group routine and the costumes were fabulous! So stricking a pose for this Kodak moment was a simple thing to do, to give this wonderful shot! :)

So, I havent blogged in a while! SOooooo sorry! :/ Life's kinda been chaotic! But I really wanted to post on this week's challenge on I ♥ Faces Photography blog. So here is my entry. Ok yes, choosing a picture of kisses at a wedding is probably cheating since they are inevitable but i kept coming back to this picture even though i had other kissing pictures.

I just love his smile. You can see how truely happy he is. Do i need to explain more? :D

New Widget - Gone by Lisa McMann

You might notice that ive updated my widgets on top. Yes, New Moon as finally arrived! CRAZY, i know! I just dont see the time pass anymore! :(

So Ive added this crazy looking widget for Lisa McMann's new book coming out Feb 9th. I picked up the first book of the serie, Wake, after reading about it in the back of City of Bones. I knew right away it would be a book that would interest me! The story is so captivating. Its a story of a girl, Janie, who gets sucked into other people's dream and this happens everywhere! And when you are a teenager in high school, you can just imagine how often those teens fall asleep during a boring class! LOL
Janie lives with her drunk mother, who barely notices her, and struggles with her gift (or curse), trying to live a normal life and hidding her secret.

Then she meets Cabel. When you have two broken pieces and put them together, they become whole again. But can it last? I cant wait to find out in the next book! :D Such a beautiful love story.

Well hello everyone! Its been a while, yet again, cause im such a busy bee as usual but i wanted to take the time to blog about a coming event i am attending tomorrow night! I still need to get ready for it! I have to go get my camera that i forgot at my friends house last weekend during her Halloween party. So ill have to run to get that after work tomorrow before i head over to Chapters to meet Cassandra Clare, Holly Black and Scott Westerfield. :D

Im a huge fan of Cassie Clare but i havent read any books from the other two authors, although i have watched the movie Spiderwick Chronicles, based off the book written by Holly Black. I took the time to check both their websites and found that i was already interested in their books just by reading synopsis and blurbs of their different series.

**Please note that their might be spoilers in the rest of my post. You have been warned if you havent read the Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare**

I cant remember how i came about the Mortal Instrument series but it was the first time i read a book in that genre and i LOVED it! She incorporates vampires, warlocks, demons, shadowhunters, relationship as friends, family and lovers (including homosexuality), a strong heroine and dreamy hero. Whats not to like?! It took me a while to get through the first book. I think i was having a hard time with it because i didnt know what to expect and it was the first time i was reading that genre but by the end of the first book, i was hooked!

You see, before last year (and Twilight), i wasnt much of a reader! Back in junior high, i loved reading but as the year progressed, i got more involved in social activities at school which didnt give me much time to read. When i got to college, i only had time to read the books i was assigned and that required essays and homework. Most of these where classic and hard to read and mostly boring. I didnt realise their was other stuff out there besides the classics and boring (go figure) lol. And then Harry Potter came along. I always was a HUGE movie fanatic. My favorite genre was usually the fantasy kind and i didnt really think reading the books would be better then watching the movies. Boy, was i wrong!

So i read the whole HP series and i really liked it but i didnt know where else to venture. I dont have many friends that read so book where never a subject of conversation. Then i was introduced to the world of forums and met tons of people who loved to read! And people were trowing suggestions at me all the time. It was only after reading Twilight that i really wanted more and City of Bones was the first book i bought after Twilight. I bought City of Bones on the Twilight movie release night; i was killing some time at Chapters when i saw the book. I think the cover design got my attention first and then, i read the synopsis and i just couldn't leave the store without it.

After reading City of Bones, it took me a while before i read City of Ashes because i didnt have time or money to buy the books! So i waited until City of Glass was out and purchase the last two books at the same time. Then i started reading... and i wouldnt put them down!

When i was done City of Ashes, i was laying down in bed that night rethinking about the ending and frustrated about how Jace and Clary where siblings. I just didnt want them to be! So i started thinking of an alternate ending and what if they choose to ingnore the fact that they were siblings. The next morning, i wrote my first fanfic! I was told, and i quote, that it was 'quite spicy'! :)

My fiance likes reading too but he doesnt have much time. I remember one night i had book 3 in my hands and I just had to read him the scene where Valentine appears as a projection and rips the heart out from one other character! It was so awesome, i was almost jumping up and down on the bed with excitement! I then said, 'Wouldnt that be such a cool scene in a movie?!' and he agreed!

The way Cassie describes scenes makes it really easy to picture whats going on in your mind. The colors, the action, the emotion. Everything is so livid and powerful. For example, one scene that is glued in the back on my mind is the scene at the beginning of City of Ashes when Valentine kills the young warlock. The scene was important but it was the surrounding that i still picture in my mind. The glass window, the circle and demon in the middle of the room and the warlock. If i could draw, i would do that scene in a heart beat!

Also, if you have read Twilight and you are an Edward fan, im sure you would love Jace. They have similarities but, mostly, they are very likeable. For one thing, they would do anything for the girl they love, even if it was the wrong thing to do. They both live with war wounds and they both live a life that is far from being normal. They are broken heroes. Both have a strong female presence by their side and only when they are apart that they realise they cannot live without these strong females. Clary sees Jace as an angel but he thinks he's a monster. (Sounds familiar?)

Im happy that Cassie will be writing more books about Shadowhunters because i havent been able to find other books quite like hers. She will be writing a book called City of Fallen Angels due out in 2011. The story will shift to focus on Simon, Clary's best friend, and how he adjusts to life as a vampire. There is also a prequel series to the Mortal Instruments, called the Infernal Devices, that will be coming out next year. Look for book 1, The Clockwork Angel, due for September 2010. The story will take place 145 years before the story of Jace and Clary but we will get to see familiar characters like a certain spiky haired warlock we all love! :)

Hello again!

Here is my submission for the photo challenge this week! A bit about the photo:

This was taken January 1st 2007. Im not 100% sure it was in 2007, but i know it was January 1st because we celebrated New Years Eve with my parents at my aunt and uncle's place and then crashed at my parents. We then had to wake up really early the next morning to hit the road to drive to my in-laws for 1 1/2, only to find out that there was an ice storm during the night.

I couldnt resist taking picture since everything was so beautifuly, frozen still. This was taken through my car windshield and this is the original shot. So this is my submission.

Now, i just wanted to show you what i did with that pic and 2 other ones i took that morning! Hope you like it! :)

I had a really hard time choosing a picture for this entry because i just have so many good ones!!!

This picture was taken at the So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Ottawa show. This is Nico and Arassay dancing to 'Somebody to Love' by Queen and I think it was a Jazz routine. I was in the 5th row!

I picked this picture because it shows how amazing performers they are cause you can see and feel the true emotions on their face! *sigh*

The Necromancer

And now a little surprise for you all! Usually, since we are part of the team, we get a heads up when news on the books is coming. But when i visited the site during the weekend, i came across exciting news on the Portal! And soon found out that it was a surprise to all of us, including the author!

Random House decided to release the cover art for book 4, The Necromancer, as well as the release date! So yep, book 4 will be available April 27th, 2010! Thats 1 month earlier than book 3! Fantastic! And what about that cover? Amazing! The graphic artist has outdone himself once again! Bravo!!

And how about that countdown, right? Gorgeous isnt it? New Blog Layout!

Well I must say that finding the I Heart Faces blog has been a blessing! :) When i checked their blog this morning, they had a post about Changing your Blogger template! Perfect timing for me, dont you think, since i had mentionned in a previous post that i wanted to change my layout! Here is the article.

So here it is! My new layout! Of course i came back to my purple since its still my fav color! Im still trying to figure out the template so bare with me. :P And im still not sure if the header image will stay. I just happened to have that in my folders and not knowning what to do with it! :) Background on the photograph: It was Halloween 2008, i was a Vampire with purple eyes! :) Simple!

I Heart Faces - Silly Faces

So I was introduced to I heart Faces by an online 'friend' (im putting friend in quotes because im not sure if friend is the right word to use when it comes to online; not to mention that i met her threw her husband! :P) Anyways so every week I heart Faces has a new contest and i just couldnt past over this one since i have the perfect picture!

Here's a little back story to the photograph. This picture was taken when my friend and I came back from the Breaking Dawn book release (hence the black contact lenses). We were tired, exhausted and figured it was the best time to do a photo shoot! So here is the shot i took!

So then came 'Talk like Pirate day' in September (yes its real, i didnt make it up! http://www.talklikeapirate.com/) and i couldnt resist whipping up something to let everyone know in the office that they needed to speak Pirate for the entire day. This is what they received:

I whiped it up in about 5 mins but had a great laugh has everyone would come in the office to compliment her on her smile! :)

Updates and Updates

Hello everyone, and welcome back... well to me anyways, since its been so long! :)

First thing's first, i now officially hate the color of my blog and i swear i will change it! i no longer like this layout! lol. Hopefully, a new layout will come soon, maybe sometime in the next week since ive just finished the biggest project ive been working on, since i think, January. Ill be posting about this a little later! ;)

So again, ive been ultra busy, nothing new there, but the world doesnt stop around me so here are couple of updates that might interest some of you!

Jango
Unfortunately, i barely listen to Jango anymore, for two reasons.
1- Its now blocked at work! (It was pretty much an 'end of the world moment' when i came in at work that day and saw the 'forbidden by rating check' title of doom when i tried to log in!). Afterwards, i tried searching for other sites that would offer the same entertainement as Jango but no chance.
2- The second reason is because Jango has become more popular and now needs money to pay to run the site which means, they added ads to the website. So after every two or three songs, an ad pops up and you have to wait 30 seconds before you can restart your music. It gets a bit annoying when you are sitting down playing a game or working and just want background music but every 10 minutes you have to go click play to restart music. :/

Mixwit
As a resort, i had come across a website called Mixwit which was really fun, for the time it lasted... yes unfortunately, Mixwit is no more! After creating multiple superb mixes, i come in one morning to find a email in my inbox stating that Mixwit was dead!
That pretty much bursted my bubble of listening to music online so i decided that i wouldnt bother with sites like that anymore so i kept my trusty Ipod with me at all times. Even though, i got bored of listening to the same songs really fast. Anyways, that was until...

Grooveshark

It was actually one of my friend at work that found the link and so far its been amazing! You can do Playlists, say whether you love the song or not and you can pretty much find anything you are looking for! I found all of Our Lady Peace's CD on there! I think im in heaven! :P Another option that i really like about Grooveshark is the autoplay feature which, when selected, streams songs that are similar to your first played song. So its music without end and you get to choose if you like it or not! Fantastic! So now, lets hope that it doesnt get blocked or that it doesnt die!

House of Night
Ok so theres been a little bit of news in this series as well. There is still 3 books that have yet to come out. The last book(5), Hunted, was absolutely amazing! It sits close by to book 2 in my heart, Betrayed, which was my favorite in the series. Its packed, action and drama wise! And of course im talking guys drama wise cause we all know how Zoey is! *major rolleyes action* Whats more to want? :) But i did love this book because it explains a bit more as to why Zoey is attracted to so many guys at the same time! It helped me understood a little more!
Book 6, Tempted, is sure to be as explosive, well i hope anyways! Look for it in a store near you in October 2009. Cant wait! :D Make sure to visit the House of Night series website for updates and more news!

New Moon and Half Blood Prince
I have so much more to talk about but i always seem to run out of time! But you might have notice that ive updated my countdown banner on the side! Yes, its this time of year again, time to start counting down to a new Twilight movie! :D And for that, ive had to remove the HBP banner, which was due and not sad about it either. One word to describe the movie = Disapointing. So ill be talking about those two things a bit later as well

Enter the Haggis
Ok and FINALLY another thing i absolutely want to talk about is Enter the Haggis. I cant believe i havent talked about them yet, and actually am truely ashamed about it! The Secret of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

Hey everyone! Wow its been ages! Sorry for the lack of posts but i've been ultra busy! I can't believe that I havent posted since November, since before Twilight! :P Well now it's on DVD so go look for it! ;)

Anyways, I wanted to take the time to post about a wonderful book series that i've been reading. It all started with my lovely brit friend Jules who kept pestering me to read the first book, The Alchemyst by Michael Scott. :P It took me a while to actually find it, since for odd reasons it was sold out everywhere! lol! When I finally found it and started reading it, I was hooked from chapter 1! If you are a Harry Potter fan, you will surely adore this series as well! If you dont recognize the name, Nicholas Flamel is the rumoured maker/ceator of the Sorceress Stone in the first HP book/movie. He isn't just an alchemist, he is THE Immortal Alchemyst! So the story is about Nicholas, the immortal Alchemyst and his wife Perenelle, a powerful Sorceress. For more than 600 years, they have been chased by the evil Dr. John Dee. Dee's main purpose is to bring back the Elders to rule the world, and to do that Dee must get his hands on the Codex, the book of prophecy (which also contains the secret recipe for the elixir of immortality) that the Flamels have been guarding most of their very long lives! The recipe of immortality must be brewed monthly or their lives come to a sudden stop. Dee tracks them down to their bookshop and after a battle he steals the Codex (except two pages that were ripped by Josh, Flamel's teen employee), and he also kidnaps Perenelle. Nicholas Flamel must do everything in his power to retreive the Codex and save the love of his life before their time runs out. As the events unfold in the first few chapters, Flamel brings this madness upon Josh and his twin sister Sophie, (who works across the street in a coffee shop). Nicholas believes them to be the Twins of the prophecy in Codex, the Twins of legend, and possibly the ones that will save the world for the threat of the Dark Elders.

That is how the story all begins. Throughout the story, the twins are dragged across the United States, Paris, London and the Shadowrealms. They experience things they've never experienced before and they come across creatures from myths and legends who should no longer exist on this earth. Using his aura to feed his magical powers, Flamel must fight to survive without using too much of his powers since, the usage makes him weak and age faster. Everyday and everytime he uses his powers, he is one step closer to death. After discovering that Flamel is in possession of the Twins of legend, he vows to protect them and takes a risky decision to have their powers awakened....

Mr. Scott integrates characters into to the story in ways where you actually believe that they might still exist and that they were the cause of such and such disaster!(The Great Fire of London being one example!) Get ready to do alot of Googling or spend many hours on Wiki! These books make you want to know more about the characters. One fun fact is that the only two fictional characters are Josh and Sophie. Everyone else is pulled from legends, myths or history. The story is spread across 6 books, 2 of which are already in book stores near you, The Alchemyst and The Magician. Look for book 3, The Sorceress, due out on May 26th! Also take the time to look at the beautiful covers of each book. Each cover is intricately designed with such detail that even if you think you've seen everything on it, you often happen to notice something the fifth or sixth time you look at it! In the case of this series, you can definitly tell a story by its cover but what is so amazing is how the story flows, so you think you know, but really, you dont! Mr. Scott brings you into a wonderful fantasy world where you think you know what's going to happen but takes a totally different turn and leaves you breathless and wanting more!

The Flamel series fan base as been growing more and more and with the release of book 3 fast approaching, people are getting ready to continue the Twins and Flamel's adventure. They've even created an Alchemyst game! Check it out here: http://www.alchemystgame.com/

My Twilight Review

Please be aware of spoilers in this post if you haven't seen Twilight yet!

After waiting for so long, the movie is finally here! I was lucky enough to get tickets and see it premiere night, this past Friday. Here is how my night went.

After work i went straight home to attend to our puppy (newest addition to our family) and then started pacing around the house. I had to find something to do, to pass the time until my friend came to pick me up to go to supper than to see the movie. So i decided to watch Thursday's episode of So you think you can dance Canada and the results show. Needless to say with all the excitement and emotions running high, since it was Twilight Friday of course, i cried like a baby when i found out that Vincent and Arassay were leaving! (One of the main reasons why i hate shows like that, its all about how popular you are. I don't believe either should have won the competition but they shouldn't have left so early either!) Anyways, so after finishing both shows and waiting for about 15 minutes more, my friend finally arrived and we headed towards the theater were we had 4 choice of restaurant to choose from. After going in 3 of them, we decided to quit food hunting since they all had between 30 to 45 minutes wait. So instead, to kill time, we headed to our trusty bookstore Chapters. When we walked in, i got the first sign of Twilight mania. The teen section, that of course included the Twilight series, was packed with fans, killing time like us, waiting for the showing of the movie. I browsed through the pathetic Twilight merchandise section, which basically included leftover posters of Jacob of course, since obviously all the Edward and Bella posters were already sold out. Its not like i was expecting to get one since that's all the store had! No sign of bookmarks or calendars or trading cards! Which totally doesn't make sense since they had a Breaking Dawn release party back in August and the turnout was of course ginormous! So you would think that they would want to make money on merchandise...? But no! So i left the store with a new book/series in hands, City of Bones, which hopefully will be worth reading!

We then decided to head towards the theater and pick up something greasy or sweet to eat (not like there is healthy food at those places). At that point we had about 1 1/2 of time to kill. When we walked in, we both stopped, starred and then turned to look at each other. There was already a waiting line for the Twilight showing of 9:30. Now the keywords here are in my previous phrases. First thing, we were 1 hour and 30 minutes in advance! Secondly, we stopped and starred as we entered which basically means that we were standing in the doorway and could see the line.... So, despite the shock, we hurried along to get some greasy/sweet food and then to take our place in line, which had doubled by the time we were ready. By the time they started to let us in, the line had grown to pass the opposite side of the theater! I have been to multiple premieres before but never have they been so intense! CRAZYNESS!

Then we were finally seated, thankfully we got good seats since the room was packed! While we were waiting for the movie to start, the staff decided to do a Twilight trivia for prizes such as posters and movie tickets. Although they weren't being fair to everyone around the room, i thought it was still fun of them to do such thing and to keep us entertained and excited until the movie started. The last prize, movie tickets, was given to the person, or group in my case, that had the best costume. Although many were wearing t-shirts and such not many went down in front to declare themselves. The winning group, girls AND boys, were dressed as the Cullens playing baseball! I thought that was pretty cool! :) There was also one girl, who supported Jacob's team, that was wearing a torn up shirt, like she had just tumble across the wolf himself. Her costume was definitely worth showing! :)

Finally the lights dimmed down and the previews started. Usually I am excited for the previews but that night, i was kind of annoyed considering that every minute, they played a milk ad which meant that it took twice as much time to start the movie...

Then the movie started finally!

First off, i must say that i am satisfied all and all with the movie. When i walked out i felt satisfied but not super happy about it. Its kind of hard to explain. I didn't really pay attention to details such as filming, editing, or effects. I knew that the movie wouldn't be comparable to those like Transformers for example, considering the small budget they had and the choice, whether it was cause of the budget or personal choice on the director's part, to not use any CGI.
The movie was 2 hours and it just flew by. It contained so much information, you didn't have time to get bored.

But although i was satisfied when i left, there was only one thing that really bothered me about the movie and its the fact that they pretty much removed the meadow scene. Why does it bother me? Well because that's were it all starts! In the book, that's where Edward and Bella have their first kiss! Which is a huge deal. That's also where Edward shows Bella that he sparkles in the sun. That's also a huge deal but most importantly, that's how the whole story started!!! Meyer dreamed about a young girl and vampire in love, kissing in a meadow. That's how Twilight started and yet, they choose to take that part out of the movie! That, to me is unbelievable!

Besides that 'problem' mentioned above, the movie was great. It kept the essence of what Twilight is, Bella falling in love with Edward, who he believes himself to be a monster.
The acting on everyone's part was awesome! Kristen does a great job of representing the clumsy, shy Bella. We even get to see her in gym once and falling on her butt, one icy morning. The whole school gang, like Mike, Jessica and Tyler were also pretty funny. The script was written with lots of humor and jokes which made to movie really entertaining to watch as well! Which is always good when you have a main story that is dark/romantic/serious.

So overall, the movie is really good! I would definitely go back and see it and i will definitely buy it when it comes out on DVD. I am also very excited that Summit will do the 3 following books into movies. I think New Moon will be very interesting with the wolves and the Volturi. Can't wait! Cant wait!

Twilight Final Trailer!

Be one of the first to see the final Twilight trailer out to be release Thursday night at 8:00 pm!

Summit has updated their site to let us know that there will be a new, final trailer for TWILIGHT coming soon! It will be debuting in theatres on Friday, October 10th in front of certain movies (it is at the discretion of the individual theatres). There will also be a sneak peak of the new trailer on Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, October 9th. Immediately following the sneak peak, Summit is letting the fans be the first to see the trailer online in its entirety and share it.

What you need to know:

You can see the trailer first online before it's officially released, via the Twilight widget. If you don't have the widget, you can grab it from the official film site at TwilightTheMovie.com.
The trailer will be available exclusively via the widget starting at 8:00 PM PST on October 9th for one hour, before launching in HD on MySpace at 9:00 PM PST.
A countdown clock will be added to the widget shortly, counting down to this highly anticipated event.

Blue Man Group

AMAZING! I went to see the Blue Man Group Sunday night and they were unbelievable! The show was way too short but they entertained me from start to finish. If you havent seen them before or have no clue who they are, take the time to visit their website. http://www.blueman.com/

Their band is composed of amazing musicians. I absolutely love the woman that sings, her voice is so powerful! Also, one of the drummer kept drawing my attention to him. He was so full of energy, it was breathtaking to watch him. Throughout an entire song, he joged/jumped around while drumming without missing a beat! I dont think I watched BMG during that entire song, i was just looking for the drummer to drop a stick or fall down the stage or something! He also had a fro the size of Sideshow Bob (The Simpsons) lol

I got to talking with my friend, who saw them in Orlando, Florida 2 weeks ago, and we noticed many differences between both of the shows we saw. For one thing, hers was longer than mine! :( But it also included alot more theatricks and interaction with the crowd. The main reason, we came to conclude is that, the show she saw is performed every night in Orlando, as for the one i saw, is a tour. So its only normal to see more in a show that sticks around! :) That only means that I will be seing them again when i go back in Florida in the 2 years! :D

I took a couple of pictures with my moms camera, but i havent been through them yet. Once i have seen them, ill post the good ones. I bought myself a sweet t-shirt too. Ill post that picture up as well since I cant seem to find the tee online!

They had an opening act, his name is David Garibaldi, a painter! UNBELIEVABLE! His show is called Rhythm and hue and it is a performance art show where he creates 6 foot portraits of pop icons, in minutes, to music.
During his performance, he did 4 paintings for us. Mick Jagger to Rolling Stone music, Bono, to U2 music of course, Jimmy Hendrix, to his music and Blue Man Group, to some crazy music. That last painting ended up glowing in the dark! The amazing thing was that as he would paint, the shape of the faces would take place and with the help of the music, you could identify the person. Here are 3 paintings he did for us! Unfortunately, i cant find the Blue Man Group one he did since he just recently updated his site explaining that he would be on tour with them for all the Canadian cities. I'll keep an eye out for it!

House of Night Series

The House of Night series is yet another Vampire, book by P.C Cast + Kristin Cast! As another fantastic vampire serie, it is somewhat comparable to Twilight. (Look for an upcoming post that will compare both series)

The books tell the story of Zoey Redbird, a normal girl that becomes a very special fledgling at the House of Night, which is a special school for Vampires! How cool is that?! So from the beginning, we follow her through her transformation, fears, worry, pain, hallucinations. During her journey, she meets quite interesting characters: the dreamy Erik Night, who is according to everyone, the hottest fledgling at the HoN; Stevie Rae Johnson, her new roommate and soon to become best friend; the hag-from-hell Aphrodite; her mentor Neferet, high priestess of the Goddess Nyx, who is the goddess of Darkness, and that’s just to name a few.

The books are filled with love/crush adventures – in this case I don’t think I could call it a love triangle, its more of a quadruple love story…, vamp powers, murders, séances, gatherings under the stars, cats – lots of them, teenage drama – again, lots of it and hilarious references to Hollywood stars and movies of our time. A perfect combination for moments that will make you laugh, make you cry – yes I did!, make you swoon over those gorgeous vampire boys and drama that will remind you of your high school days… oh lordy!

So for a light reading, visit your favorite book store to purchase the House of Night series! Here is the order of the books, note that as I am writing this post, the 4th novel is not out yet. The release date is set for September 23rd. Enjoy!

Ok so I want to talk to you about a new site I found today. After devastation had sweeped over me when I found out that Jango was now officially blocked at work, I was determined to find another music site! Not only did I find a site where I can listen to music, I get to create mixes and share then with everyone too! YAY! This is totally cool! Coheed and Cambria

I came upon this band for the first time while playing Rock Band (i was the bassist). The song on Rock Band is called Welcome Home and although we were playing on medium(difficulty), and it wasn't the easiest song to play, i couldn't help bobbing my head to the beat and listening to the lyrics in hopes to learn the words before the next chorus would appear. Since then, it as become my favorite song to sing on Rock Band!

The next day, I went to my trusty Jango (see previous post) and did a search for the band. To my pleasure, I found them! I soon fell in love with most of their songs. The singer's voice is unique and reminds me a bit of Cas Haley, a contestant on America's Got Talent last year (season 2).

Breaking Dawn Release

Just a small post to acknowledge the release of Breaking Dawn! Yay! Althought it came out Aug 2nd (which was 3 days ago) I still don't have my copy. I'm still anxiously waiting for it to come in the mail, hopefully any day soon and not Aug 21st like the email confirmation said.

For the release my friend Zoë and I bought ourselves some sweet contact lens to represent the Cullen Vamps. Amber eyes (me) means they are fed/not hungry and black eyes (Zoë) means they are ready to pounce/hungry.

Twilight

I felt compelled to write something about Twilight because it’s a venom that has infiltrated every pore of my existence. Not only did it affect me emotionally, (like it did to probably 95% of girls who read the series), but also mentally, physically and in any other way it possibly could! Brian (my fiancé) and I have come to the conclusion you would call it an obsession, and although I see it as a harmless obsession, he classifies it as more into the unhealthy category! Let me explain why.

The first time I read about Stephenie Meyer, it was on Mugglenet and she was being compared to J.K. Rowling, now, that, I still don’t get! Although Stephenie Meyer and J.K. Rowling both write fantasy novels, their styles and stories, are completely different. The only thread they have in common in their books is werewolves! It’s not that the wolves are described to look the same or transform the same, no, not at all! It’s simply that they both included werewolves in their stories. Anyways, I digress! (Thanks to Dane Cook for this awesome word!) So, I found out about the Twilight saga on Mugglenet. I still wasn’t sure if I really wanted to buy those books. (I really have to like a book or series before I buy it!) This was back in April 2008, at that time, I was having fun participating in the Harry Potter quiz to try and win a place on the HP Fan Trip to England! After talking to some of my buddies on the HP Fan Trip Forum about Twilight, I noticed that many, actually, a LOT of them liked (loved, were obsessed by...lol) the Twilight books so I decided to give them a try.

When I started reading Twilight, I pretty much lost all my senses! Almost like floating in a bubble around everything and everyone else. I had bought the 3 books (Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse) together and it took me about 1 month to read them all, maybe less. I was absorbed by them and I couldn’t snap out of it. Stephenie's writing captivates you in a way where your deepest emotions and memories can rise back up and hit you square in the face. No one can really relate to the entire story (since it’s a teenager falling in love with a Vampire), but their love is new and different. When you are a teenager, your first love is always new, different, strange, exhilarating, consuming, wonderful, confusing... (lol.. insert any more words of choice here!) It is something you never forget, because it’s your first, right!? You never forget your first of anything; first love, first kiss, first intimate moment, first house, first death, etc. These emotional milestones stay with you for your lifetime!

When I (finally!) came back to reality, I started thinking about what I had in my life and what I was doing with my life. Some re-arranging was needed for sure! For one thing, I had graduated back in June 2007 in a design program but hadn’t done any designing in almost a year. Now, Twilight is my new inspiration! On the negative side, before I was reading the books, I had started the Biggest Loser Diet and had lost a total of 20 pounds! (Yay! For me!) I still haven’t been able to restart my exercises daily but I’ll get there soon, I’m sure. Plus, it’s so much harder in the summer! (I know, I know, excuses, excuses… sigh.)

Another thing that I noticed is how men react towards this series. They either like it (never love it!), or they totally hate it. It might have to do with the description of Edward (the lead male character); a god-like, gorgeous, sparkling in the sun, graceful, romantic, chivalrous, impeccably mannered (IMHO definitely no belching at the dinner table from him and he knows how to use a fork instead of a shovel to eat!), well educated, piano playing vampire OR Jacob, a fun, cute, lovable, who likes danger, always there and would never leave your side, happy go lucky, 6’7” tall Native American russet haired werewolf (Note: for those who haven’t read the books, I’m not inventing these descriptions, that’s really who they are! They are described in this way because the book is seen through Bella’s eyes, she is the teenager that falls in love with this vampire, gets hurt by him, seeks comfort in the wolf and goes through this series of emotions throughout the series).

In Bella’s eyes, Edward is her perfect man. The book almost sets a standard for the perfect man, yet in reality there could never be a perfect man, as for every woman out there, the perfect man will be different! Different, from her best friend’s perfect man, her mother’s perfect man, etc.
Yes, as humans we seek love, it’s only natural but what we seek from love is different. So for those men out there, that are going through ‘the Twilightitis disease’, (as Seth Meyer, Stephenie Meyer’s brother would call it, it’s a disease where your wife or girlfriend compares you with and would love you to be a little more like Edward or maybe Jacob!), rest assured that you are not alone! I came upon this blog today about a man that just so happens to have read the Twilight saga. Towards the end of his post, he writes quotes to help out men in sticky situations surrounding Twilight. Now, with Breaking Dawn (the fourth and final book of the series from Bella’s point of view) coming out on Aug 2nd 2008 (Yay! Just two days time from when I wrote this blog!) and with Twilight the movie coming on December 12th 2008, the hype is bigger than ever. Posters, trailers, pictures, interviews, calendars, trading cards, jewellery, (did I forget anything?), and it’s everywhere! Even my Mom knew what Twilight was when I first talked about it with her, and I even came across other Twilight fans in my surroundings! My only question is how come it took me so long to come across this amazing series???

So while I wait for the release of the book and movie, I squander around on the Twilight_Chat forum (a forum created by the best admin ever!). At first, I was invited to be a member and a few months later, I was given the opportunity to become a moderator. And now, I am the official clue designer, as well as a mod! (Every week, we post up an online page with hints about something surrounding Twilight. It’s a fun little game to pass the time between releases and what not.) I have met some awesome people, from around the globe, with the same love for Twilight, on this chat. The idea to create this blog came to me late last night and I thought it was now time for me to create a blog where I could post my thoughts about everything and anything i'm a fan of! For those who don't know me, I am an avid fan of movies, music, books and video games so expect my posts to be totally random, within those categories of course!

Rest assured that the design of my blog will be changing very soon since it is seriously lacking beautifulness! And since I love designing so much, a new layout will be coming soon!
